What is Serving God
Scriptures about serving God reveal to us who we are supposed to be. Being must always precede doing. To become a son and a daughter of God – to be known as a man or woman of God, will never be solely about what we do, it will always be about who we are. That is the key to serving God and one another. You and I can never do enough to repay God for all He has done for us, and we will never be able to do enough to make others like, love, or to be happy with us. But make no mistake, we can absolutely become who He has called us to be in Christ Jesus.

The Power in Sharing Christian Testimonies
Brian Woodard presents a teaching about the power of sharing of our testimonies and why it is important. Sharing our testimonies is biblical; it edifies us, and it edifies those around us; it shares the good news of salvation, and it glorifies God! Testimonies are a gift from God. People can doubt or debate the Bible or the existence of God, but no one can deny your personal story with God. Your testimony is one of the most effective tools for evangelism.
Let’s read a few biblical testimonies and learn what God has in store for each of us by applying biblical principles to our own lives. We are going to look at our first testimony from John chapter 4 of the Samaritan woman at the well.
Building A Life of Service
Pastor Steve Merryman explores the important topic of serving others.
If you were to ask the question, “How would you define greatness or success?” You would get many different answers:
-Business people: Company growth or being #1 in the marketplace might be their answer.
-Wall Street brokers: financial clout and a big portfolio could be the answer.
-Athletes: Winning a World Championship or an MVP award might be the answer.
You would probably get as many answers as the number of people you asked. But what does God say? How does God define greatness and success?
In Matthew 20:26 (NKJV), Jesus says, “. . . whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.” Notice that Jesus says if you want to be great, then you must serve.
Service and greatness go together.
Biblical Readiness, Week Five Scriptural Guideposts: To Regulate – To Resist – To Be Resilient
Dr. Stephen Isaac continues the teaching series on Biblical Readiness. In this teaching, the topic of spiritual resiliency is examined. The word resilience comes from the scientific discipline of physics. The word originates from two Latin words. Re, meaning “back”, and Salire; meaning “to jump or leap.” So, the literal definition of the word resilient means “to bounce back.” The word is associated with withstanding shock, difficulty, suffering or trauma – returning to form, maintaining strength, enduring and not giving up. Sounds like something we need spiritually, something we should seriously pursue. Right?

Word of God. The premise for “resisting through the written Word” as a scriptural guidepost is built upon a foundation that declares to us that the written Word of God is “the light to our path and the lamp to our feet” needed to resist all that tempts us and threatens to lead us into evil.

Biblical Readiness, Week Two Scriptural Guideposts: To Regulate – To Resist – To Be Resilient
As believers, we are called to be ready both in season and out of season. In other words, be ready at all times to share the Word and give witness to the hope that is in you. Biblical readiness means hearing God’s Word, obeying it, and sharing it with others. 2 Timothy contains some of the last words of the Apostle Paul – timeless words that we would do well to pay attention to.
