The Supper, the Commands, and the Servant
First, there was a final Passover meal with His closest friends and His beloved disciples. Secondly, sometime during the meal, Jesus revealed to his twelve that He was aware of the desertion, denial, and betrayal that had already begun in their heart and would continue on that night. After supper, there is a late-night visit to the Garden of Gethsemane for prayer, where the God-man struggle of Jesus turns into a brutally intense battle of human (flesh) and divine (Spirit) will.
