the reunion church news
march 2023
February was an exciting month at our Christian church in Peoria, AZ. The presence of God has been tangible as Pastor Steve unfolded the Holy Spirit inspired vision – “2023 for The Reunion Church” coupled with deep teaching from God’s Word, worship that renews us, and love for God and one another that continues to transform us. We laughed as we feasted at Jalapeno Inferno and supported one another at the annual Pies and More fundraiser for our Student and Children’s Ministries. We also launched a new website with so many wonderful testimonies of faith from the Reunion Community. The new website address is www.thereunionchurch.life – please check it out!
Now, having received the 2023 vision template for the Reunion Church in 2023, we head into March responding in faith and rising in obedience. We are firmly committed to using the gifts and talents we have been given to push away from the shoreline, drop our nets deeper, and cast them wider than ever before. With a greater harvest, we will need to enlarge our tents and stretch out our dwelling place to embrace those God will bring into our midst, both at home and beyond.

At our Chistian church in Peoria AZ, we look forward to March with faith and faithfulness to the areas we committed to turn into action and bring into reality. Together, we committed to increased and intensified prayer. This month, please pray for Everyman’s Men’s Ministry as they pull away to seek the Lord on their annual advance, titled “Perseverance”. See Daniel Casillas or e-mail the church office to register. Please also pray for favor – Pastor Steve and Vickie have key upcoming meetings for funding the Fully Equipped Bible Institute. The funding provides scholarships for pastors serving in difficult and dangerous places around the globe. Please also pray for their May outreach in Zimbabwe, as the ministry schedule is being arranged now.
We committed to greater involvement in biblical training in order to further equip ourselves for excellence in Kingdom service. New Equip classes start on Sun., March 5th at 9 am. Pastor Steve Merryman’s class draws lessons from the Sermon on the Mount, focusing on the believer’s call to Kingdom values, ethics, commitments, and relationships. Diana Strouth is teaching Biblical Mentoring. The course provides a roadmap to applying practical, working knowledge of Scripture, the character of God, and the basics of the Christian faith to the mentoring process, enabling us be more effective in helping others. If you are unable to attend Sunday mornings at 9am, we invite you to take advantage of online courses through the Fully Equipped Bible Institute. Dr. Vickie Isaac is teaching the Biblical Worldview course starting Tues., Mar. 7th at 6:30 pm. The course text is “The Grid of Truth – How to Think Biblically in a Deceptive World.” Members of the Reunion Church receive a 50% discount on all courses. E-mail Vickie if you would like more information.
We committed to the expansion of our Community Care Groups. Our Christian church in Peoria AZ has a community care group that meets on campus on Weds. eves., and there are also groups that meet all around the metro Phoenix area. Watch testimonies of how Community Care Groups have helped people grow, and find out more about getting involved.
We committed to increasing staff for Children’s Ministry. Currently the Children’s Ministry is in need of volunteers. Please contact Breanna Schneider if you are able to help.
There are significant opportunities to serve at the Reunion Church in the Hospitality Ministry, Deacon Ministry, Worship Arts, Hope Missions, or through the Everyman or WINGS mens’ and women’s ministries. Prayerfully consider where God wants you to use your gifts and talents for His Kingdom. If you are not sure where you fit, please remember everyone is welcome and everyone is needed. Reach out to the church office and we will connect you!

THE PASTOR’S CORNER
Greetings Reunion!
As you know, during my prayer and quiet time over the last two months of 2022, the Lord began to “Holy Spirit download” the vision template of “2023 for the Reunion Church”. This template came with both clarity and confirmation from within and without. Meaning simply that God used visible signs, trusted relationships, solid foundations from the past, and most importantly an expanded understanding of the sudden impact of the living and written Word of God. I have articulated the vision of “2023 for the Reunion Church” over these past weeks. Now, we are rising and responding to the instructions God has given us, and I couldn’t be more expectant of what God will do in our midst.
This Sunday, I will begin to share a two-week teaching, “He Goes Before Us”, to move us into the moment of genuine faith and shared promise. We will use the text of Joshua 1:1-9 and Ezekiel 47:1-12 to contextualize and unite us for what lies just ahead. Then, we move forward in our journey into “2023 for the Reunion Church” with a six-week series from the book of Amos – “Compromise No More.”
My heart is that you will move forward with us! The Spirit of God is at work world-wide and we at Reunion are right at the center of it!
