Bible teaching church Peoria AZ, non-denominational Christian church Peoria AZ

welcome to our Peoria AZ Church!
we are so glad you are checking out the reunion church!

As our first-time guest to our non-denominational Peoria AZ church, we want to make sure your needs are met and your questions are answered. To make sure you have everything you need, below are some helpful instructions.

1) Our non-denominational Peoria AZ church is conveniently located east of the 101 Freeway and just east of 83rd Ave. on the south side of Cactus Rd. When you first arrive, you will notice that there are two churches side by side that currently share a parking lot.  The Reunion Church owns five acres on the west side of the parking lot.   While we are developing our land, you will park in the main parking lot and make your way to our plaza area in between our main building that houses our worship gathering and classrooms, and the outdoor covered plaza where Grace’s Cafe is located. If you need help, our friendly parking assistant can provide instructions.

2) Once you enter the plaza in front of the main building, you will find our Welcome and Hospitality area.  Please check in there for complimentary coffee, bottled water, bagels, etc., as well as a gift to welcome you.  Our Welcome Team can direct you to Grace’s for refreshment, and point you to Children’s check-in, classrooms, restrooms, etc.

3) Coming by yourself? Let us know in advance and we will save a seat for you by a friendly person who would love to hear what your needs are, connect you to the right people, answer any of your questions, and pray with and for you if you need prayer.  Just click HERE and ask us to reserve your seat!

4) Three times is a charm!  We ask our guests to kindly give us three weeks to determine if the Reunion Church is the right place to call home.  We believe that after three visits you will have a well-rounded perspective of who we are and what you can expect – from strong biblical teaching to warm, encouraging relationships to vibrant ministries to engage and serve in.  Plus, we have an encouraging gift to share each Sunday of your first three visits to show our appreciation of your prayerful consideration.

WHAT THE REUNION CHURCH BELIEVES

Salvation

Salvation is our conscious acceptance and confession of Jesus Christ the Son of God, as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9). In Christ we receive God’s gift of eternal life (1 John 5:10-12). This process begins with repentance for the life we have all lived apart from Christ (1 John 1:9). At that moment we experience regeneration – completely forgiven by God through Christ for how we have lived, and made a new creation in Him (2 Corinthians 5:17). Both salvation and regeneration are gifts of God’s love and grace through Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9). We can not earn the gift of God’s love but we certainly believe that by His grace Christ will forever keep us in His love (John 11:25-26).

Water Baptism

Water baptism is for those who repent of their sins, and confess Jesus Christ as Lord. Baptism is a public witness of our new life in Christ, and is an outward sign of an inward work of God’s grace (Acts 2:38).

Authority of God's Word

2 Timothy 3:16-17 tells us that: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” Because God is sovereign, His Word is the absolute authority in our lives. It is sovereign over tradition, opinion, and emotion. We are commanded to align our lives to it.  Through learning and applying Scripture, God equips us for His service.

Sanctification & Holiness

Sanctification is the life-long process of spiritual maturity in Christ, in which we learn to think like Jesus and live in the way He desires for us. To be sure it is the metamorphosis of our thoughts, words, and actions as they begin to resemble His character and reflect His presence (1 Thessalonians 4:7).

Gifts & Fruit of the Holy Spirit

Christ promised the disciples that He would send to them a Comforter when He left them (Luke 24:29). This promise was fulfilled on the “Day of Pentecost” in the upper room in Jerusalem. That day the Holy Spirit empowered them to spread the Gospel around the world. Today, we are also filled with the Holy Spirit as evidenced by the nine “gifts of the Spirit” described in 1 Corinthians 12:1-13, which are given to us (the body of Christ) by God, as He wills (Hebrews 2:4). These gifts are given to empower us for Kingdom service and as a sign to unbelievers. When the “gifts of the Spirit” are expressed through us according to God’s will, believers are equipped to do the will of the God… to love Him, love one another, and love a broken world.

Redemption & the Second Coming

The second coming of Christ is the literal act and culmination of the redemption process. Christ comes for us to present us to the Father as His own. We fully embrace the idea of an actual second coming of Jesus Christ, and His gathering up and transformation of all those alive or dead who have believe in Him, as described in (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
