BECAUSE GOD HAS GIVEN
SO GENEROUSLY TO US.
“God, we give You thanks, and praise Your glorious name. “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from You, and we have given You only what comes from Your hand.”
1 Chronicles 29:13–14 NIV

From the Old to the New Testament, there are numerous Scriptures that identify our Heavenly Father as the Provider of our needs. Because He is faithful, we are called to be faithful. We tithe in recognition that all good gifts come from Him, and we recognize Him as the source of our provision. We are called to tithe. In the Old Testament, the acceptable tithe was 10%.
Leviticus 27:30: “A tenth of the produce of the land, whether grain or fruit, is the Lord’s, and is holy.”
Proverbs 3:9: “Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops.”
In the New Testament, we are called to generosity in giving.
2 Corinthians 9:7
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
