Biblical giving – I don’t talk a lot about it, but I am going to today. As I sought the Lord for His direction in 2024, He graciously gave me vision and instructions for the Reunion Church. I shared it with our elders and received confirmation that we were hearing God’s directions. As a result, I have been teaching “Where Do You Sit – Where Do You Serve?”, talking about the urgency of the times we are living in and the need for every believer to identify their God-given gifts and step forward to use them for Kingdom service. Every person is needed because this vision includes increasing the number of people we are serving, as we become a place of refuge for people being battered by the world’s storms.
Right now, we have to expand the ministry capacity on our campus, as we know what God’s plans are for us in this upcoming year. To meet these needs, we have identified practical steps to increase ministry capacity. This includes making our property more welcoming and creating more ministry spaces and places. A multi-purpose building, sports courts and fields, and other improvements are needed. We must be able to serve at full capacity using the property God has given us. I am asking you to prayerfully consider how God wants you to respond to the need to grow our capacity to minister to those around us.
You may have noticed the big board at the back of the worship room titled “Where Do You Sit, Where Do You Serve?” with giving envelopes attached. If every envelope is taken, we will have raised $125,000 in funds to move some of these projects forward right away. The first envelope started at a dollar! Every dollar counts, and so does every person’s offering for this growth initiative. From a biblical giving perspective, these are offerings, not tithes, given from a generous heart because God has given so much to us.
To make it easier for everyone to participate, we built a page on the website to answer your questions about biblical giving and property improvements. It allows you to give online, securely and conveniently. Your gift matters and an offering for this growth initiative really does sow spiritual seed that will reap a harvest of spiritual fruit – I wouldn’t ask you to give if it didn’t.
Below is the link to the web page. After reading it, if you have additional questions about what the vision is, biblical giving, and where your money would be spent, please feel free to ask! I pray the Lord speaks to you, that you respond in faith, and that God blesses you abundantly for your faithfulness, obedience, and generosity!
God’s Peace to You,
Pastor Steve
